Co-op Experiences

Part of the architecture program at the University of Cincinnati is a required co-op rotation. This encompasses three semesters of full-time, paid internships that alternate with semesters of full-time school. Upon completing my first co-op rotation this past Spring, I am currently searching for my next internship for Fall 2024! See below to learn more about the work I did in my first experience.

First Co-op Experience (Spring 2024)

This was my first co-op as an architectural intern at DSC in Spring 2024!  I was able to learn so much about the professional architecture world and gain my new technical skills. I worked in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, Bluebeam and more. I gained experience in predominantly Healthcare and Education projects, mostly working in schematic design and construction documents. DSC allowed me to shadow coworkers on site visits, client meetings and construction kick-off meetings. This experience gave me a new perspective on architecture and the practical application beyond the classroom. I am very grateful for this wonderful first co-op experience and the amazing people at met and worked with at DSC!

Current Co-op (Fall 2024)

This was my most recent internship in Fall 2024 internship at WPA in Portland, Oregon! I loved the experience and the city. WPA is a woman owned firm, specializing in Adaptive Reuse, Commercial, Residential, and Entertainment. I worked on several different sectors within projects and used a wide range of software. The welcoming environment and collaborative team gave me an unforgettable experience, along with to getting to explore Oregon and the PNW while I was there!
